How to avoid Arnhem traffic

• The approach corridors (A12, A50, A325): delay builds outward from the city, so it looks small at the moment it starts and large by the time you arrive.
• The bridges (John Frostbrug, Nelson Mandelabrug): capacity drops to a handful of lanes and everything upstream feels it within minutes.
• The tunnels (Roermondspleintunnel): single points of failure. A closure or incident there has no cheap alternative, only long ones.

On working days Arnhem has two firm peaks: roughly 07:00–09:00 inbound and 16:00–18:30 outbound.
